Artists and craftspeople need websites focused primarily on their work, showing it clearly and making exploration easy and informative. Below are some examples of sites I’ve designed.

Sites for Artists & Makers
Alan Herman Photography
An artist site for a photographer focusing on his work, biographical information and a way to contact him. Artist sites are best kept simple and direct, with no distracting elements so the visitor can focus solely on the artist’s work.
Two pages from the site…
The HOME PAGE features a representative image and has simple navigation and layout
The GALLERY (Work) page has subpages containing specific bodies of work shown in a slide show format
Marianne Stikas
A site for an artist who makes pastel drawings and paintings for interior designers’ clients. An inviting image on the home page is followed by collections organized by subject. Biographical information and a contact page add additional material and ways to contact her.
Annie Hayes Art
A complex website I made for my work as a painter has multiple sub-pages in drop down menus, a bio page with résumé, and a contact page. My instagram posts are an important part of the site. It’s simple, full of a variety of work, and effective.
